Titre : Marx in the anthropocene : towards the idea of degrowth communism Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Kohei Saito, Auteur Editeur : Cambridge : Cambridge university press Année de publication : 2022 Importance : 1 volume-276 pages Présentation : couverture illustrée en couleurs Format : 23 cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-00-936618-2 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Capitalisme
Communisme et écologieTags : Marxism؛Anthropocene؛Degrowth؛Communis؛Capitalism critique؛Sustainability؛Political economy؛Historical materialism؛Eco-socialism؛Climate change؛Marxist ecology؛labor analysis Résumé : Facing global climate crisis, Karl Marx's ecological critique of capitalism more clearly demonstrates its importance than ever. This book explains why Marx's ecology had to be marginalized and even suppressed by Marxists after his death throughout the twentieth century. Marx's ecological critique of capitalism, however, revives in the Anthropocene against dominant productivism and monism. Investigating new materials published in the complete works of Marx and Engels (Marx-Engels-Gesamtausgabe), Saito offers a wholly novel idea of Marx's alternative to capitalism that should be adequately characterized as degrowth communism. This provocative interpretation of the late Marx sheds new lights on the recent debates on the relationship between society and nature and invites readers to envision a post-capitalist society without repeating the failure of the actually existing socialism of the twentieth century
This work explores Karl Marx’s ecological critique of capitalism and reinterprets Marx’s ideas through the lens of the Anthropocene — the current geological epoch shaped by significant human impact on the planet. Drawing on Marx’s unpublished notebooks and new materials from the Marx-Engels-Gesamtausgabe, author Kohei Saito develops a theoretical framework he terms “degrowth communism.” The book argues for a post‑capitalist society that fully integrates ecological concerns rather than repeating the productivist tendencies of 20th‑century socialist experimentsNote de contenu : الكتاب يجمع بين الفكر الاقتصادي، الفلسفة السياسية، وعلم الاجتماع البيئي، ويعتبر دعوة لإعادة بناء المجتمع بشكل يوازن بين احتياجات البشر والحفاظ على البيئة، بعيدًا عن النمو الاقتصادي المطلق الذي يهدد كوكب الأرض Marx in the anthropocene : towards the idea of degrowth communism [texte imprimé] / Kohei Saito, Auteur . - Cambridge : Cambridge university press, 2022 . - 1 volume-276 pages : couverture illustrée en couleurs ; 23 cm.

It discusses theoretical foundations, methodological advances, and how CSS contributes to established social science topics, making it useful for researchers, students, and experts interested in the intersection of computational methods and social science theory
Pathways Between Social Science and Computational Social Science is an edited academic volume that examines how computational social science (CSS) has developed in close connection with traditional social science disciplines. Rather than seeing CSS as something external or separate, the book argues that it has emerged as a response to internal challenges within social sciences, helping to extend theory, improve methodology, and reframe classic social science topicsNote de contenu :
Pathways Between Social Science and Computational Social Science : Theories, Methods, and Interpretations [texte imprimé] / Rudas Tamás, Auteur ; Péli Gábor, Auteur . - LONDON : SPRINGER, 2022 . - 275p : cov.ill ; 24cm.

Gezon Lisa, Auteur Année de publication : 2023 Importance : 193p Présentation : cov.ill Format : 24cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-367-62526-9 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Anthropology of drugs؛Drug use and society؛Ethnography؛Addiction and dependency؛Biocultural approaches؛Drug economies؛Drug policy؛War on drugs؛Criminalization Résumé : The Anthropology of Drugs examines drugs not simply as chemical substances or medical problems, but as social, cultural, economic, and political phenomena. The authors argue that drugs cannot be understood outside the cultural contexts in which they are produced, used, regulated, and stigmatized
The central idea of the book is that drugs do not have fixed or universal meanings. What counts as a “drug,” a “medicine,” or a “dangerous substance” varies across societies and historical periods. Therefore, drug use and drug-related problems must be analyzed within broader social structures such as culture, power, inequality, and historyNote de contenu : يركّز الكتاب على فهم المخدرات بوصفها ظاهرة اجتماعية وثقافية وسياسية، وليس مجرد مواد كيميائية تُسبب الإدمان. ينطلق المؤلفان من فكرة أساسية:

Wuthnow divides the essays collected here into three distinct ©vocabularies.¹ Part I examines the ways in which religious and scientific languages function as vocabularies of conviction in public life, Part II focuses on music and art as vocabularies of expression, and Part III considers law, ideology, and public policy as vocabularies of persuasion. The contributors discuss such diverse subjects as American spiritualism, the syntax of modern dance and the social contexts of number one songs. What unifies the book is the common concern with the concrete, everyday manifestations of culture and the importance of understanding its basic structure. This book will be of interest to specialists and scholars of various disciplines such as linguistics, literature, media studies, popular culture, and sociology Note de contenu : هذا الكتاب هو مجموعة من المقالات تبحث في الرموز والألفاظ المستخدمة في الحياة العامة، وكيف يمكن تحليلها من منظور العلوم الاجتماعية والنظرية الاجتماعية. يناقش المؤلف الروابط بين اللغة، الثقافة، والمعنى في السياقات الاجتماعية المختلفة، مع أساليب تحليلية تجريبية Vocabularies of public life : empirical essays in symbolic structure [texte imprimé] / Robert Wuthnow, Auteur . - New York : Routledge, 1992 . - 270p : cov.ill ; 24cm.

PsychopathologieRésumé : Foucault's early writings on psychology and psychopathology have been considered by most interpreters to be immature in relationship to the "archaeological" work he launched with History of Madness. But this position becomes untenable in light of the newly discovered unpublished manuscripts of the 1950s, when he was a lecturer at the University of Lille. These documents now allow us to acknowledge the discrepancy between the tremendous amount of work that the philosopher produced and the very few writings that he published in the decade before his doctoral dissertation appeared in 1961. Recently discovered archival sources provide us with new information and details about the philosophical context and scientific network in which Foucault elaborated his first works. Young Foucault analyzes the general epistemological "style" and methodology of Foucault's philosophical project at the moment of its inception. It blurs the boundaries between biography and theoretical research in order to retrace the transformations, the difficulties and sometimes the contradictions that characterize the intellectual trajectory of a philosopher who, as Foucault himself put it, "turned to psychology, and from psychology to history" Young Foucault : the Lille manuscripts on psychopathology, phenomenology, and anthropology, 1952-1955 [texte imprimé] / Elisabetta Basso (1976-..), Auteur ; Marie Satya McDonough, Traducteur ; Bernard E Harcourt (1963-..), Préfacier, etc. . - New York (N.Y.) : Columbia university press, 2022 . - 1 vol.331 p : fac-sim., couv. ill ; 22 cm.
